Ultraviolette F77 deliveries start, company looks at expansion now


Ultraviolette will now focus on expanding its presence both nationally and globally, with plans to raise USD 120 million.

The Ultraviolette F77 range is claimed to be as high as 307km on a single full charge.

By India Today Auto DeskTVS Motor Company-backed EV start-up Ultraviolette today announced that it has started the deliveries of its high-performance electric motorcycle, F77. The deliveries were made at the company’s manufacturing facility in Bengaluru.

The Ultraviolette F77 has three forms — Airstrike, Shadow and Laser — with each having two variants — F77 standard and F77 Recon. While the F77 standard is available at a starting price of Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom), the F77 Recon can be had for Rs 4.55 lakh (ex-showroom).

The F77 standard gets a 27kW/85Nm permanent magnet AC motor paired with a 7.1kWh battery. It can accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in 3.4 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 140kmph.

The F77 Recon has a 29kW/95Nm permanent magnet AC motor getting power from a 10.3kWh battery. While it can complete a 0-60kmph sprint in 3.1 seconds, the claimed top speed is 147kmph.

While the standard variant has an IDC range of 206km, the same is 307km for the Recon variant. With a standard charger, both variants get up to 35km of range per hour. There is an optional fast charger, which can give up to 75km of range per hour.

Ultraviolette will now focus on expanding its presence both nationally and globally, with plans to raise USD 120 million in near future.

“The funds will fuel the company’s global expansion plans and support its ongoing vehicle platform development efforts,” Ultraviolette said. Till now, the company has raised over USD 55 million with investment from TVS Motor Company, EXOR Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corp, Gofrugal Technologies and Speciale Invest.

Ultraviolette CTO and co-founder Niraj Rajmohan said that our investors share our vision for the future of transportation. “With the commencement of deliveries of the F77, it is vital that we keep looking forward and pushing through to Ultraviolette’s next phase of growth,” he pointed.

“The infusion of funds from partners who share our vision will enable Ultraviolette to scale new vehicle programs, expand our domestic footprint, and accelerate international product rollout,” Rajmohan said.
