Being Hyundai’s entry-level SUV, and that too a feature-loaded one, expectations are very high from the Exter. Hyundai Exter price
The price of the Exter starts at Rs 6 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom). For reference, the Venue is priced between Rs 7.77 lakh and Rs 13.18 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Exter variants
The Exter has seven variants — EX, EX(O), S, S(O), SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect.
Hyundai Exter engine and transmission
At the heart of the Exter is a 1.2-litre, Kappa petrol engine, which delivers 83PS and 113.8Nm. It can be mated to a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT. There is also a CNG option, which churns out 69PS and 95.2Nm. However, it can be paired with a 5-speed MT only.
Hyundai Exter mileage
The Exter has a claimed mileage of 19.4kmpl for the petrol MT, 19.2kmpl for the petrol AMT and 27.1km/kg for the CNG MT.

Hyundai Exter features
The Exter gets features like a parametric grille, LED projector headlamps, signature H-LED taillamps, signature H-LED DRLs, front and rear skid plates and 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. In-cabin features include an 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch coloured TFT MID, automatic climate control, wireless charger, rear AC vents, cooled glove box, leatherette upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, footwell lighting and metal pedals. There are segment-first features like an electric sunroof and dashcam with dual camera as well. Apart from six airbags, the Exter also has a seatbelt reminder for all seats.
Hyundai Exter vs Tata Punch
The main rival of the Hyundai Exter in the Indian market is the Tata Punch. For reference, the price of the Tata Punch starts at Rs 6 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.52 lakh (ex-showroom).
