By India Today Lifestyle DeskWarren Buffett, the 92-year-old billionaire investor and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, is known for his frugality. This trait seems to be shared by his wife, Astrid Buffett, who was recently overheard complaining about the price of a $4 (Rs 329) coffee, New York Post reported.

At the annual Allen & Co’s event in Sun Valley, Idaho, often referred to as the “summer camp for billionaires,” 77-year-old Astrid reportedly said to an employee at the resort that she “could get a pound of coffee” for the same price elsewhere.

The cheapest caffeine available at Konditorei, the popular Austrian-themed pastry shop and coffeehouse located on-site at the swank Sun Valley resort in Idaho, costs $4, confirmed the Post.

Warren Buffett’s thrifty habits are well-documented. In 2017, Bill Gates during his speech at the Bill and Melinda Gates’ annual letter recalled how Warren Buffett pulled out coupons to pay for a McDonald’s meal.

At the event, Astrid was also overheard saying that her husband has been struggling with poor balance.

Warren Buffett resides in the Omaha, Nebraska home he bought in 1958 for $31,500. Besides this, he is known to purchase hail-damaged cars at a discount and frequents McDonald’s for breakfast.

Astrid, formerly Astrid Menks, has been married to Warren since 2006. The couple met each other while Warren was still married to his first wife, Susan Thompson, as per Business Insider. Susan passed away in 2004.
