In a release, Samsung also confirmed the upcoming Galaxy S21 FE 5G will be available with 256GB of storage. Other official details are yet to be revealed.

Samsung’s announcement comes days after 91Mobiles pointed out the phone’s imminent launch in India. The report states the price of the Snapdragon 888-powered Galaxy S21 FE 5G could be around Rs 49,999. If the information is accurate, this makes the new model much cheaper than the original Galaxy S21 FE 5G with Exynos 2100 SoC. The latter launched for Rs 54,999 for the 128GB storage option and Rs 58,999 for 256GB storage.

In terms of features, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G with Snapdragon 888 is expected to come with a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate. The display may also have a hole-punch cutout for a 32-megapixel front camera. The back may also include two 12-megapixel cameras (wide + ultra-wide) and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. There could also be a 4,500mAh battery with 25W wired and 15 wireless charging. Other key features may include DeX support, NFC, IP68 rating, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

While Samsung had already launched a Galaxy S21 FE in India last year, the new model could ship with Android 13 out of the box. To attract customers, Samsung may promise three years of software updates over Android 13. It means, despite using an old chipset, customers will still have the option to enjoy new Android features for the next three years without spending the premium price tag that the newer Galaxy S23 requires.

The old Galaxy S21 FE 5G is still available to buy in India for Rs 39,999 for the 128GB option and Rs 43,999 for the 256GB storage model. It comes in Olive colour.

However, soon, Samsung’s focus will be on its new foldables. The company is also expected to launch new Galaxy Tab S-series tablets and new Galaxy smartwatches. Their latest Galaxy Unpacked event is expected to take place on July 28. Samsung is yet to confirm the date.
