The German midfielder fired City in front in the 37th minute with a wonderfully worked goal off a Riyad Mahrez cross. He then provided the assist for Haaland’s record-extending 36th Premier League goal of the season. Gundogan then curled a brilliant free-kick from the edge of the box to confirm all three points for the Citizens.

The win takes City four points clear of Arsenal in second place, with an extra game in hand. The defending champions will face Chelsea, Brighton, Brentford and Manchester United in their final four Premier League games.

Arsenal slip up in title race

Brighton and Hove Albion dealt a crushing blow to Arsenal’s title hopes by defeating them 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium. Goals from Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav and Pervis Estupinan meant that the Gunners now face a four-point deficit to City in the league table.

The Seagulls took the lead six minutes into the second half, thanks to a headed effort from Ensico. With Arsenal pushing for the equalizer, Undav struck the hammer blow when he doubled Brighton’s lead in the 86th minute with a lobbed effort past Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. Left-back Estupinan then fired home a rebound after Ramsdale spilled Undav’s effort in stoppage time.

Following this defeat, the Gunners will turn their focus towards their remaining two games against Nottingham Forest and Wolves in the Premier League.
