2023 Honda CityFacelift's images leaked ahead of launch

Honda Cars India is gearing up for the 2023 Honda City facelift launch. As we had informed our readers earlier, Honda dealerships have also started accepting bookings for the new model for a token amount of Rs 21,000. However, ahead of the 2023 City’s official introduction, its images have leaked online giving details about the updates.

From the leaked images, it becomes clear that the 2023 Honda City does not get a lot of changes. At the front, the bumper has been tweaked a bit with a slightly redesigned fog lamp housing. The grille has been redone, while the chrome slat is sleeker now. The LED headlamp unit, with nine LED inline shells and integrated LED DRLs, remains the same.

The rear bumper of the Honda City facelift has been refurbished as well. The reflectors have been moved towards the bottom and are now placed horizontally, instead of vertical placement in the outgoing model. The Z-shaped 3D wrap-around LED tail lamps have not been touched.

Other than these slight tweaks, the 2023 City remains the same. We were not even expecting major changes so far as the design is concerned as this is just a mid-life update and not a full model change.

However, there would be some significant overhauls under the hood. Honda will reportedly discontinue the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine and the City facelift will only have the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with 6-speed MT and CVT automatic options.

Besides, there have been reports claiming that Honda would add more variants to the City e:HEV (hybrid), which is currently available in a single trim, ZX, priced at Rs 19.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

At present, the non-hybrid City is priced between Rs 11.87 lakh and Rs 15.62 lakh (ex-showroom). Do not be surprised to see the 2023 Honda City prices going north, possibly in the range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).

While the City facelift will start arriving at the dealerships towards the end of February, it will go on display at the showrooms on March 2.
